NOTE:
** Most Crafts are not intended for children to do, under the age of 4. Children under 4 may sign-up for crafts, but will need parental assistance.
** NOTICE: Children age 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult or an adolescent at least 14 years of age at all times in the library, including programs.
2008 Summer Reading Program "Get In The Game,
READ!"
Lead off the season with a hit in our summer reading program, "Get in the Game, READ!" Opening day for the Summer Reading Program begins June 16th and will run through August 4th. There will be four groups:
The Minor Leagues! group is for newborns to preschool, and those that are to young to read can have older siblings or adults read to them;
The Little Sluggers! group is for kindergarten to 2nd grade;
The All Stars! group is for those in 3rd to 5th grade;
The Major Leagues! group is for 6th to 8th grade.
Further information on the Summer
Reading Program goals for each group will be given out to the children and
parents at the time of registration. The last day to sign-up for the reading
program is July 14th. Books may be reported to the Program Staff in the Youth
Services Room.
Reporting Times: Mon., Tues., Thurs.: 3:00-6:00 p.m. &
7:00-8:00 p.m. Fri. and Sat.: 1:00-3:00 p.m.
These are the only times that the
staff will be available for books to be reported there are no exceptions!!
There will be a trophy awarded to the school with the highest
number of books read throughout the summer. Lets play ball and hit a home run
with no running at this summers reading program.
Visit the library on Tuesday, June 10th from 6:00-6:45 p.m. or 6:45- 7:30 p.m. and craft dad something to show him he is #1 to you .
**There is a limit of 40 children, 20 per session for this craft!!
**Please sign-up
at the front desk starting May 6th.
Visit the library on Tuesday, June 24th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and join us and let your imaginations run wild on the library sidewalks. A special prize will be given out to the best sidewalk design. **Please sign-up at the front desk starting May 20th.

Parents must stay with their children during this outdoor craft!!
Visit with the Historical Society at the library on Saturday,
June 28th from 2:00- 3:00 p.m. And join Thomas Haskell as he presents this
program that is dedicated to the history, preservation and continuing story of
the windmills In Illinois.
Be a sport and join the library on Tuesday, July 22nd from
6:00-8:00 p.m. and watch our feature sports movie, with popcorn and more.

Traveling World Of Reptiles...
Dave DiNaso will present a hands on, close up presentation
about reptiles and amphibians on Saturday, July 26th from 1:30-2:45 p.m. Thisss
should make for a slithery time. **Please sign-up at the front desk starting
June 14th.
Visit the library on Tuesday, August
5th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and join in on our games night, the library will provide
the games. This program is for children between the ages of 7-12.
**There is a limit of 20 children
for this program, **Please
sign up at the front desk starting July 1st.
Stop in at the library on Tuesday, August 12th from 1:30-3:30
p.m. and help us complete our old extra crafts from some of our previous
programs. There are a limited number of crafts available. You may pickup a craft
with instructions to complete at home or work on the craft at the library. There
is no sign-up necessary for this program, just drop by between the given times!!
