Adult patrons (18 yrs. & older) must present two pieces of legal identification with current name and Schiller Park address. Both pieces of identification must have identical Schiller Park addresses.
Adult patrons are responsible for any fines, fees or overdue items.
Juvenile patrons (5 – 16 yrs.) must be present with a parent or legal guardian who must present two pieces of legal identification with the adult’s current name and address. Both pieces of identification must have identical Schiller Park addresses. Parents and legal guardians are responsible for any fine, fees or overdue items for minor children.
Library cards are issued for three years after which renewal with one piece of identification with current name and Schiller Park address is required. Cards will not be renewed for any patron with unpaid fines, fees or overdue items. There are no fee charges for renewal if patron presents original library card. The cost for replacing a card is: $1.00 for first card; $2.00 for second card; and $3.00 for every additional replacement card. Registration Hours are:
Monday thru Thursday 9:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.
Friday thru Saturday 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Acceptable identification with current name and address is listed below. Identification must be current, nothing handwritten is accepted: Utility Bill, Illinois I.D. Card, Check book, Lease, Govt. Letter, Selective Service Card, W-2 Form, Driver’s License, Voter’s Registration, Insurance Policy, Vehicle Registration Identification Card, Charge Card Statement, Bank Statement, Military Card, and other Legal Documents.
The library reserves the right to revoke or restrict the use of a library card if borrowing privileges and/or the Library’s Rule of Conduct are abused.
Non Resident Library Card Policy
Nonresident cards will be issued to individuals residing in Illinois who do not have his/her principal residence within the territory of a public library service area. Nonresident card means the library card purchased by an individual residing in an area not taxed for public library service from a participating public library.
The nonresident library card will be issued for 12 months for a fee of $220.00.
A valid nonresident library card shall accord the nonresident library cardholder to all the services the issuing library provides to its residents including reciprocal borrowing privileges.
